Vassalo & Associates was happy to celebrate International Women’s Day by attending an event hosted by the Cambridge Chamber.  We were proud to be a Community Partner sponsor.  Due to continued business support for the Cambridge Chamber, they are heading in the right direction working towards building prosperity, creating opportunities, and encouraging business growth in our community.

I feel privileged to be a part of a generous community who came together Friday night and braved the elements to raise over $380,000 for a new MRI machine at CMH. Way to go!

Vassalo & Associates Private Wealth Management is proud to support a range of charities. The diverse list below reflects each team member's commitment to the charity (or charities) of their choice.

Summer Solstice Sip & Taste

We were happy to sponsor and attend the Summer Solstice Sip & Taste in support of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation.  The event at Roseville Estate raised over $36,500 to help acquire life-saving equipment, expand clinical services to the community, and continue to develop infrastructure at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Vassalo & Associates International Women’s Day Award

In recognition of International’s Women’s Day, we are happy to acknowledge the recipient of the 3rd annual Vassalo & Associates Female of Year award.  In 2021 we selected Jennifer Huynh followed by Caroline Tanswell in 2022.  This year the award recipient is Joanne Fetherstonhaugh.  This recognition comes with a $1,000 donation to a charitable organization selected by the winner, and Joanne has chosen The Canadian Cancer Society.

Joanne taught primary school for several years before taking a hiatus to raise two boys who have become assets to Canadian society.  Before her sons themselves joined the work force, Joanne established the first School Age Daycare in the city of Sarnia, all the while continuing to support her growing children and moving about Canada and abroad in support of her husband Ron’s career.  Somehow in the midst of this busy life, Joanne also managed to find time to return to school, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1981 at York University.  She is also a loving grandmother to six grandchildren who are themselves all soon joining the Canadian work force.

Joanne, your legacy is multifaceted and your contributions both to your family and to others’ who benefited from your guidance are greatly appreciated.  We need more steadfast, caring and diligent people like you in this world!

In 2021, we selected Jennifer as the recipient of the award.
